The Future of Development Finance: A Conversation with Philippe Le Houérou
Tuesday, April 10, 2018 10:00 am - 11:00 am
CSIS Headquarters
This event will be webcast live from this page.
Please join us for an armchair conversation with Philippe Le Houérou, Chief Executive Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank Group
Founded in 1956, IFC is the largest development finance institution (DFI) focused on the private sector in emerging markets. In FY17, IFC invested $11.8 billion in its own account and mobilized $7.5 billion from other investors. Over the past six decades, IFC has invested more than $25 billion in African businesses and financial institutions. Policymakers and aid agencies, who are the shareholders of DFIs, are now looking towards DFIs to address global challenges like fragility, forced migration, global infrastructure gap, energy, and water security.
This will be a conversation on the future of development finance, IFC, and the role DFIs will play in building our future.
This event was made possible by general support to CSIS.
