On March 5 at noon in the William G. McGowan Theater at the National Archives in Washington, DC, the Office of the Secretary of Defense Historical Office is scheduled to present a roundtable discussion on the book Harold Brown: Offsetting the Soviet Military Challenge, 1977–1981.

Roundtable panelists include Secretary of Defense Harold Brown(1977–1981); Secretary of Defense William J. Perry (1994–1997); Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert O. Work (2014–2017); and Dr. Edward C. Keefer, author of the book. 

Harold Brown: Offsetting the Soviet Military Challenge, 1977–1981 is the ninth volume in the Secretaries of Defense Historical Series and focuses on President Jimmy Carter’s defense secretary, Harold Brown.
